Did anyone else see the aurora borealis tonight? It was such a beautiful green glow in the northern sky! Thanks to Miss LaFollette for calling me so I could go check it out. After almost getting my car stuck in a muddy field as I pulled over on a country road to see it better, I sat and watched for about 15 minutes. I also got to see some meteors from the Geminid meteor shower that appears this time every year in the northeastern sky. What a great night for WOW!

The aurora occurs when high energy particles from the sun enter Earth’s magnetic field and emit light as the electrons in the air become excited and then return to their ground state.
